Excellent tour with knowledge staff! - We thoroughly enjoyed this excursion! The bus was prompt collecting us from the hotel and then the bus we transferred on to for the actual trip was very comfortable and equipped with toilets. We got food and drink on the bus, which was a lot more than we were expecting. Our guide, Rodrigo, was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all the questions the group had. The food at the Mayan village was excellent, the best we've had on an excursion and the time you got at each stop felt plenty. The cenote was amazing, especially the blessing. Overall I'd really recommend this excursions, absolutely worth the money and we had an amazing time!

Great experience! - The bus was at the resort ahead of the scheduled pick up time. The bus was very comfortable and they accommodated our dietary restrictions for the boxed breakfast they provided. Our driver Javier and guide Andres were great! The bus was very well maintained and I was especially impressed by how clean the restrooms were. We visited Chichen Itza first and the local guide did a great job of explaining the significance of the ruins. I truly enjoyed learning all of that information. We were for about 2 hours and then went to Valladolid for lunch at La Casona de Valladolid. The buffet had a huge variety of options and all the food was labeled with allergens making it very easy for us. The food and drinks served were delicious and the servers were very friendly. The restaurant itself is beautiful on the inside! We strolled the city for a bit before heading off to the cenote. Cenote Xkeken is absolutely beautiful. The water was a little cold, but extremely refreshing and I am so glad I took a dip. They had changing rooms and lockers and showers. The only complaint if any is that I wish we could have spent more time at the cenote. My kids (12 and 8) were dreading having to go on a whole day excursion, but they had a blast! Highly recommend this tour to anyone and it was definitely worth every penny.

Chichén Itzá xcaret delux tour review - Absolutely amazing experience! I can’t give enough stars to our tour guide Andres and our driver Edwin. The buses were clean and comfortable with bathrooms. They also supplied us with drinks. I will have to say I would have appreciated bottled water to be offered on the trip. Personally I am not much of a beer or soda fan. But I had my own bottle of water for part of the ride so that worked out. The hospitality and overall experience made up for it to some extent. The cenote was absolutely beautiful and interacting with the Mayan locals was interesting. The restaurant in valloadid was fantastic! The Mexican bufet they served was phenomenal. The tour was definitely the highlight of my trip to Mexico 🇲🇽

Great, but expect many hours sitting on the bus. - My wife and I did this tour on September 26, 2024 and we enjoyed it, however it was a lot of time on the bus and we didn't get a lot of time at the sight or the the cenote. We got picked up from our hotel at 6:45 am and got to our meeting sight around 7 am. We got on the bus and started to head out to the site when we had to changes buses due to a bum tire. Changing the bus took 45 minutes to do and we lost a lot of time because of this and other reasons. The main tour guild was great, but this was a bilingual tour with half speaking English and half speaking Spanish and the back and forth was a little hard to follow. We got to the site and were given our water bottles and were offered an umbrella, which for some reason my wife and I didn't take and this was a mistake. As soon as we stood in front of the temple, the rain came and we got soaked, TAKE THE UMBRELLA! This kinda ruined the day for us, but NOT the fault of the tour guide or the company. Our guild gave us a lot of great information about the site and the temple buildings, but at the end of our, "guided tour," we were taken into the forest to find his friend tent and were basically harassed by them to buy things. I personal planned on buying something while we were out there, but this was a waste of our time. Before getting off the bus, we were told we'd have a little under 2 hours at the site. When I booked the tour, we should have been given 3 hours. The guided tour took about 45 and we given free time from there. The site is very spread our and with the rain, everything was covered in mud so getting around wasn't too easy. My wife and I got our photos and purchased a few things and headed back to the bus to make sure we were on time. The venders or a bit pushy, but not rude and will haggle, be respectful towards them! The goods they are selling appear to be hand made and mostly had great qualities we got some nice things at lower then asking. Bring cash and smaller bills! Some people can take card, but cash will be easier and you wont get extra fees for the card uses. We got back on our bus and ended up waiting on a couple for ten minutes after we should have departed. Our next stop was at the cenote and that took about 20 to 25 minutes to reach, but it was a pain to change out of our soaked cloths, walk the path to the entrance, and trek down the steps to reach the pool. The cenote has two paths to walk through and about 100 steps to walk down before you can start to swim. There is one place with bathrooms and one for lockers and changing area's. The lockers were $2 CASH ONLY, so if you want a locker, bring cash. The entrance to the pool is kinda a cluster f*@K because people stand around taking pictures and are fearful of jumping into a pool that is 60+ feet deep even with a lifejacket. The water was a bit on the cooler side, but enjoyable. The bad thing was, we only got 1 hour here and as busy it was and some other issues we had, my wife and I only had about 10 minutes in the pool, so that was disappointing. We got back on the bus and again had to wait for the same couple and now were delayed an additional 20 minutes. At this point we're over an hour delayed due to the bus and the same couple always being late coming back to the bus. I'm sure this is what lead to what happened the rest of the tour. Next stop was lunch in Valladolid. It took about two hours to get to lunch. The breakfast they provide isn't great, but its something. The only issue is, breakfast was around 7:20ish and at this point in our day, it was pushing 1 pm before we started to make our way to lunch. The 2 hour bus ride was okay, but our driver was very content in keeping to the speed limit or below. That fact will come back a little later. Once we got to Valladolid the restaurants almost made up for the lateness and personal issues we experienced. The food we had was what my wife and I wanted since we landed in Mexico a few days prior and our hotel was very disappointing in their food options, but that's another story. I think because we were delayed, we got to lunch at the same time as two other buses from our company and a few others, so the buffet was jammed packed with hungry people. We were given an hour to eat and walk around the town on our way back the town center to meet the bus. Tour buses aren't allowed to park in the town center and had to either circle or park somewhere else. We had to meet in the park and look for our bus within that hour we were given. Luckily, everyone was on time to meet the bus and we started our way back to our hotels. Its 3 pm at this point and we were about 2 and half hours away from Cancun. The bus ride back seemed like it took longer then the trip out. One thing I didn't realize until being told this was, Cancun and were Chichen Itza are is in a different time zone. You gain an hour going out and lose one coming back. So, when we started our way back it was 3 pm local time, but 4 pm Cancun time. Our driver refused to go above the speed limit and we were passed by 4 similar sized tour buses on our way back to our hotel. We didn't have to debus to go back to our hotel, but for my wife and I, we were one of the last stops to be dropped off. We didn't get back to our hotel until 8:45 pm. Day stated at 6:45 am and ended at 8:45 pm. LONG DAY for us. Was it worth it? Yes, but be prepared for a 12-14 hour day, bring cash, and TAKE THE UMBRELLA.

The best guide I've ever met, Hector! - I am impressed by the great work of guide Hector Chan in Chichen. We kept all the tour very interested, I had already visited the Archaeological Zone, I have even taken this tour but had not had a guided tour as interesting as this. Hector kept us very interested with what he explained, no information taken off the sleeve, many concrete data, dates, years, etc. I learned a lot from the area thanks to him! I congratulate Hector greatly, you see that he has studied a lot and that he does his job with great passion! Hopefully Xcaret group recognizes this great worker they have! It's a gem! It was basically what made the tour memorable. From there on out everything was very good, it is just important that people know that the bus ride is long. We had 2 transfers one way and one return and in total the tour took 13:30 hrs, it is understandable. The driver Juan very friendly and very professional, had ready the beers after the heat in Chichen! Haha. The guide of our bus equally nice although he missed one comment or another that was not going. In Valladolid he asked that we not move from the park because it was “the safest place”, one and another client if he put face of whaaatttt!!, but nothing to see (I don’t remember his name anymore) The food of La Casona amazing, never disappoints!!

So worth it! - So worth the time! We loved our experience and the sites are a must see/do. The guide and driver were super professional and helpful. Kevin was knowledgeable and fun all day! Our driver, Sergio, was so helpful and always had cold drinks for us as it was hot! Learned so much about Mayan history and culture. It’s a long day, but definitely go.

chichen itza was good, cenote was very small and lunch was bad - xcaret bus picked us from hotel at 7 am and went around other hotels for an hours to pick up others. after everyone was picker we thought that they are taking us to Chichén itza but they took as to their bus station. there we got dropped off. they asked us to stand in line for 30 mins for the bus to Itza. horrible experience, no proper updates. after standing in line for 30 mins we boarded the bus. guide was a nice person, only problem was that he speak mostly in spanish and few words in english in between. you would never know what he spoke!. no use of guide without english they stopped in valladolid first and them in chichen itza. It was good up to that point. after that they took us to a tsukan cenote. this was a small cenote (disappointing). xcaret said we will get a local cusine buffer lunch. but they put us in a horrible bufffet in tsukan. looks like there are trying to save cost. brocheure will say local cusine... but in reality you will get a not so good lunch. better bring some stuff from hotel (snacks, fruits).. after cenote they dropped at hotel at 9 pm. 14 hrs... they could have done this in 10 hrs... very slow ride bus... try other travels which offer better cenote and lunch

Dismal experience... not the tour itself, the unprofessional guide! - Arriving a few days ago from a wonderful holiday in Playa del Carmen, marred only by a tour that should have been "Deluxe" as the advertising says and turned out quite the opposite. On Thursday, October 10th we made with 4 friends the "Deluxe" tour to Chichen Itza and it was really quite an unpleasant experience according to the following: 1-. De Luxury has nothing (I have done that tour with other agencies and unfortunately yours does not have any details that make it different. 2-. The worst was the attention and treatment of the "Professional Guide" named Marcos. I proceed to report the facts: We were picked up at the RIU Playacar hotel more than 15 minutes late, there were 3 rows of seats ahead unoccupied and reserved and this person sent 2 of my friends to sit at the end next to the bathroom. When we bought the tour, we requested seats ahead and as much as possible together for a medical reason, since one of my friends had fallen the previous day (back he knew she had a fractured rib), but he didn't mind and told us that the seats were on a first come, first served basis, which also didn't make sense because if we were going up it was up to us those who were unoccupied, plus clearly no one likes to go sitting next to the bathroom, especially if there is more availability. After insisting again he said he had to go to another hotel and there he would see if there was availability, which also makes no sense with the mention that it was on a first come, first served basis. Then he said it was for people with disabilities... we went to another hotel and 2 people came up and sat them in these seats and then he made them come down because they had to go on the tour in French. Two more people then climbed in and sat them in those available seats. Her argument changed every time we asked her to change seats for my two friends. I must be blunt in saying that we were rude or disrespectful to anyone, if we were energetic in demanding what we had bought and specifically requested, but he was upset in bad ways and his unprofessional bad attitude remained from there onwards towards us quite brazenly. He finally changed them not before by making a meaningless move, asking 2 people to change into the front seats and them sitting in the newly vacated seats. For what? If I could have sat them directly in the seats that were available. 3-. As offered on the website and in the tour description the guided groups would be in English or Spanish, but this person made a bilingual group which is not in keeping with what was offered. Obviously the criteria to assign to each group was his and left us in bilingual to what we claimed with 2 ladies of age who said that it was not what they had sold considering the high value of the service, .. but since he was the owner of the tour he did not heed any claim. He simply ignored all of us, saying that by regulations groups could not exceed 20 people. 4. After the bad tour in Chichen with another friend we arrived 4 minutes as initially indicated that the arrival time was 11:55 and then changed it to 11:50 and we were left with the first information. While we arrived on the bus there were already my other 2 friends one of whom tells them that 2 passengers are missing and I request if they could call us because she thought we were looking for them and this person I totally ignore her, the other guide I think Gerardo was a little kinder and agreed to come down and call us, when we were already arriving. Finally, when he got on the bus, Marcos in his constant attitude of exposing us to the other passengers loudly apologized to everyone for the "delay". Something he did not do in Cenote (people got on more than 15 minutes late) and in Valladolid (more than 25 minutes). 5. Upstairs the bus had no bottled water, despite what was offered at the time of selling the product, they only had drinks and beers, as the water was in the trunk, and when offering me a soda he asked if I had water since personally I don't drink drink drinks and less beer and he replies that there is only Coke and beer and he tells me in very bad ways "You're going to want to or not", so textual..first he tweets me without giving me the confidence to do it.. that seems to me a serious disrespect, bordering the rudeness for his tone and attitude 5. On the bus she handed out some honey candy typical of the area and one of my friends asked for another candy and the very rude one stretches the box with his back and starts attending to another passenger 2 rows back when my friend was talking to him, completely ignoring her. 6. Finally and to end his unprofessional attitude, bad manners and evidencing his total displeasure with us by getting off the bus at the hotel, he does not even show his face to say goodbye, lowering his head to the ground and turning his back on us. On Monday, October 14th, I address the person who sold us the tour, Pamela Olmos from TIU and I tell her everything described above and she shows me some comments that this person made the same day of the tour, clearly with the intention of protecting himself and that it is full of errors, which I consider intentional. CASE 04836210 -. He indicates that he is picking us up at the hotel Riu Yucatan, which is not true and is something that he can verify in his travel form, we were at the RIU PLAYACAR -. I am sure it indicates that hotel, because if so obviously it would have more people to pick up in the other hotels, which does not correspond because after us they only went to 1 hotel where 2 people went up, so clearly "their seats" reserved reached perfectly with what would have avoided all this conflict. -.In the report indicates that the guided groups in Chichen are 25 people maximum, when in the tour said that they were 20. If they were 25 we reached perfectly well on the Spanish tour, but the intention of him was always to stay out and harm us. -. The TIU girl corroborates to me that she asked for preferential seats for my friend’s injury and that it was written on the application, something the guide denied from the start. -. And most seriously of all, we are NOT GIVEN THE FINAL ASSESSMENT that is delivered after each service, clearly because I knew how we would evaluate it. It was really so bad the attention of this person, that personally for me it was a dislike the tour. They are supposed to be one of the best agencies in the area and that level of employees leaves a lot to be desired, they have a very bad guide, unprofessional and above all ill educated. The tour does not say price/quality ratio with the supposed Deluxe service they sell. Too bad because it's not cheap and I personally think I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
