Setting Sail to Isla del Caño

The sun was just beginning to rise over the horizon as I found myself standing on the main beach of Drake Bay, ready to embark on a new adventure. As a seasoned surfer, I’ve spent countless hours riding the waves of Central America, but this time, I was trading my surfboard for a diving mask. The Isla del Caño Diving Tour promised an intimate experience with the ocean’s depths, and I was eager to explore what lay beneath the surface.

Our small group of six divers was greeted by Alexa, the charismatic leader of Yemanya Expeditions. Her passion for the ocean was infectious, and I could tell we were in for a treat. With our dives complete, the boat set course for Playa San Josecito. The golden sands and crystal-clear waters were a perfect backdrop for relaxation. As I sipped on a cold beer, I couldn’t help but reflect on the day’s adventures. The camaraderie of the group, the expertise of the crew, and the breathtaking beauty of Isla del Caño had made for an unforgettable experience.

As we made our way back to Drake Bay, I felt a sense of gratitude for the opportunity to explore a different facet of the ocean I love so dearly.
