Additional Information

The North Pole’s majestic spectacle, the Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis, is a result of the sun’s particles clashing with the high atmosphere. In Iceland, these breathtaking displays are visible during winter, from late August till April, taking on various shapes and colours, with light green and pink being most frequently observed.

Wonderful Northern Lights Tour - Wonderful night with Stephan S as our Northern Lights Guide. The skies cleared enough to see several waves of Aurora. Great tour and highly recommend Stephan S.

Experience of a lifetime! - This was an amazing experience! First, our guide Stefan totally made this so enjoyable. He was funny, engaging, and expertly explained the lights and managed expectations. Also served us hit chocolate which was perfect for the occasion! Second, the lights put on quite the show. We got lucky, it was so worth the trip. This is a must-do trip but bring your patience, the lights are SO worth it!!

Amazing experience! - This was an experience of a lifetime! The probability of seeing the Northern Lights tonight (10/23/2024) was on the low side due to the rain, cloudy conditions and the half moon. But we were so blessed to see some of the most amazing lights! Our driver, Stefan, was such a great host and assured us we would see the Aurora Borealis. He took our photos with the norther lights as a back drop! He even treated us with some hot chocolate which was a perfect end to a perfect evening.

Amazing aurora experience - We got very lucky and had a lot of aurora activity the night we went- the views were spectacular and it was a once in a lifetime experience. Our guide, Stefan, was amazing and made the whole experience even better! He did a great job explaining what causes the aurora and also setting expectations. He took photos and warmed us up on a chilly night with some hot chocolate and Icelandic donuts. Being in a small group was great, there was no one else at our viewing location so it was a very intimate experience that we all got to enjoy together. Best activity I did in Iceland, hands down.

Stefan is above and beyond! - We did several Northern Lights excursions out of Reykjavík, and this one with Stefan Svavarsson was the BEST. He is passionate about hunting for and finding the Aurora, and he was a wealth of very interesting information. Not only did he rely on his network of other aurora hunters to monitor activity, he knows all the best spots to view—even when you have to find one quick because it’s happening sooner than expected! On top of all this, Stefan went above and beyond by taking photos and time lapse video with his camera on a tripod that he was willing to share with us. Way better than the photos we captured! Such a cool memory for us of a magical night.
