A good rigorous hike with an exceptionally knowledgeable guide, and just a tiny group of people - Stunning views, medium-strain hike, very knowledgeable tour guide. The experience was fantastic. Our guide, France, told us all-things volcano, and showed us vents where heat was coming out, and all sorts of lava-related sites.

A memory that will last a lifetime - Giuseppe was wonderful! He was incredibly knowledgeable and also had a great sense of humor. He even checked up on my friend when she decided she couldn’t complete the hike. The view from the top of the volcano was stunning and I will treasure that memory for a lifetime.

Enriching Hike - This was such a cool tour! We had a small group so we moved quickly and had more time for questions and exploring. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and a great teacher. I recommend taking this hike with a geologist specifically, because if I had not been with her I would have just looked at rocks and moved on. It added a layer of depth and understanding. It’s very interesting how lava varies based on exposure to different elements. So glad I went on this tour, it was one of the highlights of my trip to Iceland!

Very interesting and spectactular landscapes - We really enjoyed the tour by France, who is a professional geologist. She is very knowledgeable about the volcanic area and its geology. We explored an area that has been active in the last few years, we could still feel the heat at some parts and saw gasses escaping. The hike itself offers a spectacular view of recently active areas, including those near Grindavik. We learned a lot and we recommend to this tour to anyone that wants to learn more about volcanism.

Volcanos 101 plus a great hike - An awesome tour but don't expect to see orange lava flowing down a mountain like the picture! Of course not but this was still a great hike. Our tour guide Guiseppe was a great host and educated the group on all things volcano. It was like taking a field trip with a professor. The hike is not strenuous for anyone that is somewhat fit. There is a steep climb but the trail is well defined and there are no rocks or slabs to climb over. The lava field was very interesting and features steam and heat escaping from under the lava field. Ample time to explore and have lunch. Bring your own snacks and water. Guiseppe stopped to and from the trailhead for a WC break at a very cool bubbling thermal area. Great value.

Encouraging, exciting, and educational! - Giuseppe was wonderful, encouraging, and informative! He provided facts at every step while maintaining a joyful attitude that kept the whole group going. Some members were less athletic than others, but thanks to his constant cheer we all made it to the top and felt wonderfully accomplished, as well as more educated! Would definitely recommend any tour with him!
