Discover Rotorua’s Natural Wonders on Horseback
Rotorua, nestled in the heart of New Zealand’s Bay of Plenty, offers a unique blend of natural beauty and cultural richness. As mid-February graces the region with clear skies and comfortable temperatures, it’s the perfect time to explore the outdoors. One of the most enchanting ways to experience Rotorua’s countryside is through a guided horse trekking adventure. Horse Trekking
On February 15th, start your day with a morning trek at 10:00 AM. This one-hour journey takes you through the lush landscapes surrounding Mt. Ngongotaha. As you ride, you’ll traverse verdant fields and operational farms, all while enjoying panoramic views of Lake Rotorua. The trek is designed for riders of all skill levels, with safety gear and guidance provided. The horses are well-mannered and familiar with the trail, ensuring a relaxed and enjoyable experience.
Beautiful views, Calm Well Mannered Horses - The guide was nice, informative and very patient. My horse liked to stop and try to snack and she explained to me how to stop the horse but I wasn’t the best at it, she was very patient as we figured it out together. The views were beautiful, all the horses were very chill and well mannered, they knew the trail well, we didn’t have to do much besides stop them from snacking. I recommend doing this if you have the time and love animals. Side note, they had a cute dog I got to pet while waiting for our horse trek to start. (Reviewed on 2025-01-30)
