A variety of animals, such as buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, zebras, impalas, and others, inhabit Akagera National Park. Black rhinos and lions, once extinct in the park, have been reintroduced, but sightings cannot be guaranteed due to their low numbers and the elusive nature of the black rhino.
