As the rain gently taps on the windows of San Antonio de Pichincha, the perfect opportunity arises to delve into the rich cultural tapestry of Quito. This Thanksgiving weekend, embrace the warmth of indoor escapes that promise to captivate your senses and enrich your understanding of Ecuadorian heritage. Begin your journey with the Quito City Tour(Quito City Tour), available from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, where local guides unveil the secrets of Quito’s historic center. The tour kicks off at the Santo Domingo Church, offering a unique vantage point of the city. As you wander through the Basilica del Voto Nacional, marvel at the neo-gothic architecture and the local fauna-inspired gargoyles. The tour’s highlight, Mitad Del Mundo, invites you to stand on the equator line, a moment that bridges the hemispheres and connects you to the world.

Reviewed on 2024-09-18: Travel through Quito with Carlos! - Fun does not begin to describe the time we had with Carlos going throughout Quito! On our final day in Ecuador, we feel like we saw every corner of Quito, all thanks to Carlos! We were so thankful to have him take us around and were so delighted at his extensive knowledge of the city! He absolutely made our time in Quito sing!

Culinary Adventures and Local Stories

As the clouds gather and the rain falls, there’s no better time to indulge in Quito’s culinary delights. The Cultural and Food Tour(Cultural and Food Tour), available from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, offers a delectable journey through the city’s vibrant food scene. Begin your day with a ride on the TeleferiQo, where the breathtaking views of the Andes set the stage for a day of exploration. As you descend into Quito’s Old Town, the aroma of traditional dishes fills the air. From hearty locro de papa to sweet empanadas, each bite tells a story of the region’s rich culinary heritage. The Intiñan Museum, a stop on this tour, offers a fascinating glimpse into the ancestral worldview and the unique effects of the equator line.

Reviewed on 2024-10-07: Absolutely worth it! - This tour exceeded our expectations. We had a warm, knowledgeable and friendly guide, Galindo, who took us to see the Intiñan museum where we did the Middle of the world experiments! We went to Teleférico, saw the beauty and contrast of Old Town and New Town Quito, visited beautiful churches, and ended with delicious chocolate! There was so much wonder packed in just one day. My personal favorite was getting to meet the llamas! I would definitely recommend this experience to everyone!
