unforgettable experience - It was a spectacular experience, they picked us up near the hotel, on arrival they provide us with coffee and bread, and give us time to take pictures in different scenarios, then we go up to the balloon and explain how it is. The experience is great, the views beautiful, you feel a lot of peace, I would repeat it. Then we get a very rich and varied breakfast buffet. From there we go to where the artisans work the silver and then to the pyramids, they are impressive!

Must do in Mexico City - The hot air balloon ride over the pyramids was amazing. We saw the sun rise over the city and the archaeological site and it was perfect. Jorge was our guide, great guy. Teotihuacan itself is big enough to enjoy but not so big that you get tired quickly. Bring water. There are lots of people who offer to be a guide for a fee but I have heard they often make things up. You can just read about it beforehand and skip the guide.

Checked this off the bucket list - This was a great experience. The business was on top of everything and took excellent care of us. The experience of the pilot showed n the way he was able to maneuver around the pyramids and land us safely. We ordered the extra video and photos and are very pleased with them. The breakfast was a nice finish to the morning.

Best balloon ride ever!!! - I had a fantastic experience with this organization. The hot air balloon ride lasted for 45 minutes and was incredibly enjoyable. The event was well-planned and executed flawlessly. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a great time.

Great Experience and I will Cherish the Photos and Video Forever - I was afraid to try this but I am so glad I did. The operators and all the support staff and crew are so skilled because they do this regularly. It was like watching a ballet from set up to delivery back at the site. I made a video about it on my channel named ANOVA Travels to show the exact take off and landing and how pretty smooth and fun it was. The views were breathtaking especially since there were so many other balloons up at the same time. If you get really scared, just move more toward the middle of the basket. We had champagne at one point too and I got two glasses. That always helps, ha ha. They also have drones up there filming from the outside so you can see everyone in the basket and your reactions for the first 4 minutes of flights. I am so glad someone in my group got that.

A Truly Mexican Experience - It started off as a very cool experience, but then the pilot and drivers completely abandoned their jobs to seduce a young girl wearing a skirt. The pilot, Oscar, had her sit on the propane tanks (safety hazard) so that he could take pictures of her on his personal phone, and she kept flashing everybody her bright green underwear (there were children present). The last 20 minutes of the ride were just her own personal photo shoot and you could feel the sexual tension between them. And then, to top it off, she ended up joining our van with some other girl that wasn't originally a part of our group, and they reclined their seats so far back that the row behind them almost couldn't sit there (the row behind them was comprised of very skinny men just fyi). On the drive back to the hotel, the driver was literally inviting them out to eat after the tour. Also, the restaurant that they have you eat at, El Cielo, isn't that good to begin with.

Not bad but not great - This experience wasn’t all bad but it was not great either. I’ll start with the good - the transfer from the hotel to site was good, the flight was smooth and the food at breakfast was decent. Now for the less good - our balloon didn’t go anywhere near the pyramids. This was really disappointing as that was the whole reason why I wanted to do this experience. Mostly we saw some cactuses and farm buildings. I’ve seen a lot of other balloons go a lot closer to the site. Also, there were no explanations in English and the morning snack consisted of overly sweet coffee and stale pastries but those are minor details. What was rather annoying is that the staff were constantly pushing “professional” photos - it felt like the only thing they cared about is selling you the photos. We also paid for the visit to Teotihuacán and that part was completely disorganized as we had to wait 2 hrs after the flight to be taken to the site. On the way to Teotihuacan we also had to go through a sales pitch at a crafts workshop but at least it was mercifully brief.

Try a different company, NOT Sky Balloons. - The hot air balloon was awesome but there were some things that didn't go so well: 1) The lunch we paid for was mediocre and I think I got sick from it 2) Since we did the walking visit to the pyramids on the way we (as a group of travelers who didn't know each other) were bullied into getting a tour guide for which we had to pay extra. There was peer pressure in accepting because the price was for the group so if one person decided not to participate, then the rest of the folks had to pay more.

DO NOT RECOMMEND- GO TO ANOTHER COMPANY - I would not recommend this company to coordinate your hot air balloon ride. The hot air balloon ride and the tour of the pyramids (shout out to our great tour guide Pancho!) were great, we paid for round trip transportation from our hotel in Palanco and were left in the middle of the street an hour walk from our hotel. After our return driver requested tips, he left us in the middle of the street saying he couldn’t get us to Palanco due to street closures from the Pride parade. We requested he get us closer and he refused. He also refused to give us his name. He left us on the street and drove away. We had no idea where we were or how to get back to our hotel. After standing on the side of the road for half an hour trying to figure out where we were, we were able to get a cab that had no problem getting us back to our hotel. It seems the driver just did not want to deal with the street closures to get us safely back to our hotel. As a previous reviewer mentioned this company has shady business ethics, I won’t waste my time asking for a refund for the extra money we had to put out to get back to our hotel. Please go with another company.

Experience Tainted by Dishonest Business Ethics - The actual balloon experience was good (despite for the cold breakfast) but unfortunately, the whole event has been tainted by the dishonest business ethics of Sky Balloons Mexico. My wife and I did the hot air balloon ride on Christmas Day 2022 (25/12/2022) and the company made an error because they did not include us on the transport schedule even though we requested an early morning pick up from our hotel in CDMX (Roma Norte). After making numerous attempts to get in touch with the company in the morning, I was told by a member of staff that there was an error with the transport and we were not on the transport schedule. I was then told (in writing) that if my wife and I organised a taxi to the company office (next door to the pyramids), we would be able to take the balloon ride and the company would reimburse us in full for the personal transport costs that we incurred (taxi + toll gate). I have sent through proof of costs to the company (as requested) but up to this point, my wife and I have still NOT received the refund. I have contacted the company many times about the refund status and each time I am told by a member of staff that the refund is coming. Unfortunately, I have lost patience with the company and it is difficult for me to trust them. I recommend that you do good research before choosing which company to use for this experience (there are other good reputable companies available) and take situations like this into account when making your decision.
