Highlights
  • Imjingak Pyeonghoa-Nuri Park - This park was built to console the refugees who left North Korea during the Korean War.
  • Bridge of Freedom - You will see the Freedom bridge built to liberate 12,773 prisoners in 1953. The bridge was used by South Koreans returning home from the North. So dive into the cultural and emotional significance of the space by walking in their footsteps decades later!

Located against a beautiful natural backdrop, the bridge is a fantastic place for photos, so get inspired and create some memories!

  • DMZ - DMZ Theater – the past in action

At the DMZ Theater, you will have an opportunity to watch a short 7-8 minute video about the Korean conflict. The video provides a South Korean perspective on the Korean War, how the DMZ came about, and today’s current situation. It also gives some background to the infiltration tunnels that North Korea dug. Having just had the opportunity to walk through the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel, it should be pretty enlightening.

DMZ Exhibition Hall – the best place for history lovers

The next point on your DMZ experience is the Exhibition Hall. Here, you will see some key artefacts to give you a better understanding of our bitter history. Containing photos, documents, and some remnants from the past, a walk through the Exhibition Hall will provide you with a deeper and more visual knowledge of the conflict. There are many exhibits on display and some interesting facts for history buffs.

  • The Third Tunnel - A stop not to be missed on our itinerary is the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel. Located 12 kilometres away from Munsan and 52 from Seoul, the tunnel was discovered in 1978.

Its purpose was to be used to invade the south. At 1,635 meters long, 2 meters high and 2 wide, the tunnel has the capacity of moving an entire division per hour!

The curious fact here is that when the tunnel was discovered, North Korea alleged that the south had built it for a surprise attack, but evidence points to the contrary. Walking through will feel like you’ve stepped back in time!

  • Dora Observatory - Enjoy clear views at Dorasan Observatory

Sitting at the top of Dorasan, the Observatory is ideal for looking across the border. This is the part closest to the North and is one of travelers’ favorite highlights on the tour! So get a once-in-a-lifetime look at isolated North Korea on our Half Day DMZ tour!

Use the high powered binoculars on the third floor for extra precision. You will be able to see the North’s propaganda village located right inside the DMZ and see as far as Gaesong, the ninth-largest city in North Korea. If you’re lucky to be here on a clear day, you’ll get to see the bronze statue of Kim Il-sung, too!

Dorasan Observatory was recently rebuilt and opened on October 22, 2018. The changes made it both higher and gave it a better angle. Now, you get the added bonus of seeing an uninhibited view of Kijong-dong, Gaesong city, and Gaesong Industrial complex!

  • Gamaksan Chulleong Bridge - (Optional)

The Gamaksan Red Suspension Bridge stretches 220 meters long and is 1.5 meters wide, providing ample space for up to 900 adults to explore. The bridge can withstand winds of up to 30 meters per second and earthquakes of up to 7 magnitude, making it super safe while offering breathtaking panoramic views you won’t find anywhere else.

Be prepared to capture stunning photos, leaving your friends and family in awe. Guests who have visited before rave about the picturesque beauty of the bridge, calling it a highlight of their trip and a view to remember.

Experience the thrill of a lifetime with our DMZ 3rd Tunnel & Red Suspension Bridge tour! Don’t miss the opportunity to explore Korea’s number one attraction and walk across the longest suspension bridge in the country. Book now and get ready for an adventure you’ll never forget!

Wonderful trip, even better guide Alex - We were very satisfied with our trip. During it we managed to visit the sites of exquisite natural beauty, historical importance and, of course, political importance, regarding current state of North-South Korea split. We have to give a special thanks to our guide Alex, who did a really great job organizing our trip, telling interesting and important stories about Korean culture and history. Alex worked with a high energy and a lot of love for his job, showing individual attention to all the travellers. He helped us take the pictures and was interested to hear our feedback. Couldn't ask for a better guide, me and my brother are thankful! P.S. Can't forget to mention the fact, that Alex literally sprinted to a ticket booth so that our group would be guaranteed to received our tickets to enter the DMZ. If not for his individual efforts, the trip could've been a disappointment but he did his best to ensure we get a best possible experience. Hopefully you'll get to have Alex as your tour guide too.

Well-arranged DMZ tour! - We really enjoyed our time on this tour of various sites in and around the DMZ. We only booked the evening before, but communication with VIP Travel was quick and effective. Historical background was provided with much energy and enthusiasm by Yuna, our tour guide. Would happily be a part #Team Yuna again!

All over the place. - The connection to the history was fantastic. GoGo deserves a raise. The group tour is just nit good when you don't control who is in the group. Kids will be kids and rude adults will show up. That takes away from the experience.

THIS IS NOT THE STEP ON NORTH KOREA TOUR - I made a mistake booking this tour since it should have stated that the JSA (the place where you can step on North Korea) is currently closed for tourists. The whole time I was thinking we would go in there. Instead of that we went to multiple tourist traps. The only place I really liked was the tunnel, nice workout.
