Highly recommend this tour! - Couldnt have asked for a better layover in Beijing! Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to visit the Great Wall and the Forbidden city in one day. We booked the tour just 30 minutes before leaving at the airport and it was perfect! Lisa, the tour guide, was great! Friendly, organized and professional. Highly recommended! Great price compared to other tours too.

An unforgettable day: culture, wonders, food, photos, people people people - We had 20 hours to spend in Beijing and found Herbie on level 2 of the terminal. He was incredibly welcoming. Herbie's English is excellent. We were in a small group with one other - so 3 of us. We hadn't booked in advance (so we were lucky) but Lucas from Argentina had booked over a month earlier. Herbie tailored our tour for our requirements and checkin timings. Even though he must do this so many, many times, he managed to keep it fresh and made us feel as though we were his friends to whom he was showing his home town. He quickly learned our names, and also gave us the collective nickname of "Herbies" for the day, which was very useful and fun. The vehicle was comfortable and seats 4-5 guests plus Herbie and Master Jao the driver. During the drive to the Great Wall we had a succinct history lesson. Very useful and fascinating. There were options at the GW for those keen on climbing steps and those less keen. And there is a luge/slide down which is great but we weren't allowed because we were over 60. Nevertheless the trip up and down in the chairlift was fabulous. We were lucky to be there during the few days a year when the leaves of all the oak, chestnut and other deciduous trees turn autumn colours. Herbie was a great Director of Photography: he knows the best spots and poses for photos. He even let me take a photo of him! At the Forbidden City, we saw many many locals in costume for photography. They were happy to pose for us. They looked spectacular.Herbie was able to explain details of all the costumes, including which dynasty they represented and any other significance, such as wedding or funeral attire. He answered tricky questions and seemed to enjoy being asked. We loved being part of our little tour group.

Incredible day making the most of a long layover! - Such an amazing day thanks to the wonderful Herbie (tour guide), master Jao (driver) and Daniel. Everything was so organised and easy to navigate. Such an awesome tour to do if you have a long layover - what a way to spend your time! Herbie was so knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming. He is very professional and personable. It was such a fun day doing it solo and touring around with him. We did the Great Wall first thing in the morning and it was empty, then we headed to a local spot for lunch which was delicious and then the forbidden city for an afternoon wander (with a couple car naps in between - the norm apparently) Thank you again. Highly recommend!

Amazing experience! - Totally reccomend these tours! We had Lisa as our guide and she was great! She met us on time, helped us to find an ATM machine to withdraw cash at the airport, had Lee the driver pick us up in a comfortable mini van with air-conditioning, was very knowledgeable and spoke good English. It was a very hot day and she was happy to keep to our speed. The wall was very cool to see. Overall we had a great day and would totally reccomend these tours!

Great Beijing Layover Tour - We met our tour guide as planned, Yuan and had a wonderfully full day as we were champeroned and informed throughout the day. The Great Wall and The Forbidden City tour was everything we were told it would be and were free to explore as time permitted. Our van was comfortable and the driver Great and there was plenty of bottled water as required. We thoroughly enjoyed our layover on our way back to New Zealand and would highly recommend.

Awesome way how to spend your layover time in Beijing - We had like 15 hours layover in Beijing. Getting the transit visa was quite easy. We met our guide Lisa at the airport as agreed before and she had a minivan with a driver outside that took as to the Great Wall. It is relatively far so it was about 1 hour ride but it gives you nice chance to see surroundings of Beijing so it was totally alright. The wall is awesome and you can go down with a bob ride. Then we go to the Forbidden City. Awesome historical site. Lisa knows basically everything about the history, all the dynasties, buildings etc. So you get whatever info you are interested in. After that we asked for some nice lunch and Lisa took us to a very authentic Chinese restaurant where we had some really nice Chinese food. She also paid for us with the Ali Pay QR code and we then paid to her the equivalent of USD so we did not have to exchange cash at the airport. This was very nice and super convenient. Then we went back to the airport. Everything was super smooth and easy. If you have a long layover in Beijing you must do this.

Amazing layover tour experience with Herbie - My wife and I had a 13 hour layover in Beijing and booked this tour so we could do some sightseeing. We booked with Beijing tours and met our guide, Herbie (English name) as we left the terminal. Herbie was amazing from the beginning, explaining the extensive history of the city and each attraction in depth. He provided great insights, enjoyable and relaxing atmosphere and amazing photography skills. I would recommend this company and Herbie to anyone travelling through Beijing!
