João was exceptional!!! - João (tour guide) was amazing for the entire day. An 8-9 hour tour is a long day. However, João made it a very pleasant day. He picked us up from our hotel, gave multiple food/shopping locations, and had amazing jokes during the day. He really made the day awesome! 10/10 recommend

Great tour given by Diogo - What a great tour! This was our first time in Portugal and our 13 and 14 year old first time in Europe. We couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide. We were suppose to meet at 7:45 am but no one was at our Airbnb til 8 to check out and store our luggage. Diogo was super friendly and flexible. I know we made his other group a little upset but he handled it like a pro. He was knowledgeable about everything we saw, gave us good advice on on touring the places he brought us to and even great suggestions of places to visit while we toured other areas. Thank you for showing us such a great time!!

A great time was had by all! - Diogo was one of the best guides I have encountered on a Viator booking. First he is very courteous, on-time, and accommodating to all guests in the group. His information is great, He made sure we all could get the most out of each part of the itinerary and did so with a lot of energy and enthusiasm. While Sintra was quite foggy and misty the experience was enjoyable. As a note there are some steep uphill walks to get to the palace and one should be aware of this.

Awesome guide and tour - This was a great all day trip. Made me really want to go back to Sinatra. Joao was a great guide. Shuttling the group and giving a great story of the area. He clearly loves the area a knows a ton. He was a wealth of knowledge. Definitely do both Pena palace and the Quinta da Regaleira worth the hike up the hills to see. We saw everything and more. Really a great day trip!

One of the best days ever! - This tour was an incredible experience! I traveled to Lisbon on a solo trip (my first) and I was eager to do a group tour to Sintra. Diogo was an amazing tour guide - he picked me up from my hotel, delivered information in multiple languages to accommodate everyone on the tour, was very knowledgeable about Sintra and Portugal more broadly, consistently ensured everyone was satisfied, and even provided personalized tips/ spots to check out for the rest of my time in Lisbon. Pena Palace was truly magical, Sintra and Cascais were the most picturesque towns, and the other stops on the tour were some of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited. Plus, you’ll have some time to explore on your own and check out local restaurants and gift shops! All I can say is that if you’re even considering doing this tour, DO IT! You won’t regret it 😊 A couple of things to know (not cons, just things to be aware of): - Additional tickets are recommended for visiting the interior of Pena Palace and Regaliera. I’d highly recommend, but expect to add ~$25 in additional cost to this tour. This information will be provided over WhatsApp with links, but just an FYI! - This tour involves a lot of walking. Wear comfortable shoes and expect to be exhausted at the end of the day 😂 Overall, I would highly recommend! This is a must-do!

Miguel is the best guide & driver for Sintra - Experiencing Sintra with Miguel was INCREDIBLE! As a local, he is full of knowledge and stories, and he finds all the interesting shortcuts along the way. It was our first full day in Portugal, so it was great that Miguel picked up me and my friend at our hotel. Arriving early at Pena Palace is the way to go, because you get a glimpse of the place to yourself. He walked the Park Grounds (with the full van of 6) and explained lots of history and details. Unfortunately it started raining as we left Pena, but that didn’t ruin our walk around the town of Sintra. We had free time to explore the town, visit the National Palace, or walk to Quinta da Regaleira. We did Regaleira in the rain for 2.5hours. It was uphill (no joke) but witnessing the Initiation Well was absolutely worth it. The entire place is so lush and full of tropical plants & trees, as well as grottos, caves, waterfalls, and towers/ramparts. We could have spent many more hours exploring here. Next, Miguel drove us along the coast to see the Atlantic, surfers awaiting their next wave, then we had 1.5hrs to explore Cascais. It’s a nice coastal town, but we didn’t walk on the beach. Due to the rain, we went indoors at an Irish Pub for some food & drinks. Overall, the rain was a factor, but if we had a sunny day, then all places would have been mobbed with tourists. So, I’m so happy with how the day worked out. Miguel is a FIVE STAR guide and driver. I highly recommend him. In fact, I already recommended him to some US gals we met in Porto later the same week.

An amazing day with Miguel !! 😊 - Our tour with Miguel was incredible. He was friendly, knowledgeable and an absolute pleasure to be around. The day was so well planned out, sites were amazing and we had plenty of time to browse on our own. Highly recommend it was a highlight of our trip.

Nice trip - The Peña Palace is unique but we do not think it is necessary to spend time inside, unless you have not seen any castle in Europe. It was very windy day / dress up well if you travel at autum till spring. Due to some traffic congestion in the area, we had very little time to see Regaleira. This is much more interesting place than Peña palace in our opinion. The trip was great.
