• State Historical, Architectural and Ethnographic Reserve Khinalig - Nestled among the breathtaking peaks of the Greater Caucasus Mountains is the ancient village of Khinalig. Situated at an elevation of 2,350 meters (7,700 feet) above sea level, Khinalig is recognized as the highest continuously inhabited settlement in Europe. The residents lead lives that are remarkably different, with their own unique language, traditions, and a sense of freedom that many can only dream of.

And on the way to Khinalig, you can often see eagles flying overhead, wild horses galloping along the banks of stony rivers and clouds descending so low that sometimes they can even be touched.
