Great unusual water park - A great and unusual experience. A natural water park with date jumps, slides, caves lots of animals to see. A long day though pick up was 7.30am and drop off 7pm, leaving the park at 6pm. We had great weather but I did think had there been a storm there wasn’t much shelter, one of the restaurants was covered but I was imagining how packed it would be. Also to note that if pick up is 6pm for you all food and drinks service is finished at 5pm.

Honest disabled view on the park - The park it's self is amazing, the staff were friendly and welcoming. It was a worthy trip when visiting the Cancun area. The food was nice, nothing fantastic, just your standard buffet. However, there were a few downsides. The park opens at 8:30, but you can't get breakfast straightaway, which also meant no drinks ready for you unless you purchased from one of the many shops. Ok, so let's get down to the accessibility park of this wonderful park. You can hire wheelchairs for the day for around $24, I however do not need a wheelchair but I do have issues. Note that if you regularly need to rest like me, then this park might not be for you - it's a massive trek around the tracks of this park with very and I mean very little seating to rest on. Now, in the other seating areas, which are some very beautiful wooden deck chairs however these are very low to the ground impossible for me to get in and out of which means there is nowhere to actually sit and chill during my visit, most certainly wouldn't be the beautiful hammocks. There were toilet blocks scattered, which all had drinking fountains, but that's it. You wanted anything other than water. You had to walk all the way back to the restaurants for drinks and snacks, so unless you spent all day around that area. We did find that it was disappointing that there were so many other activities that you have to pay for once there, which could add a considerable cost for a family of 4.

A fun day out! - We booked our Xel-Ha and Tulum experience through TUI and when they came to pick up up (Xcaret Group) we were told that we would be going to Xel-Ha in the morning and Tulum at 2pm. This was NOT what TUI advertise on their website and app for experiences and I said to our guide Hugo that we didn’t want to go to Tulum in the hottest part of the day and also this isn’t what was sold to us. He was very helpful and dealt with this promptly when we arrived to the park and said we could have the option to just stay at Xel-Ha all day which we did decide to do. I logged a separate complaint with TUI as they are selling a tour that says Tulum will be in the morning and Xel-Ha in the afternoon. This was not the fault of Xcaret group as they advertise the tour we were mis sold by TUI. Xel-Ha is a great day out. You really do need a whole day to properly enjoy the park. You can have breakfast, lunch, snacks and as much drink as you like. They have beverage stations around the park and lots of different restaurants to use: international buffet, Mexican, snack bar etc. we chose to have Mexican and it was fresh and delicious and use the snack bar for some chips and a burger before we left. Staff are friendly and helpful and lots of lifeguards in and around the water. Life jackets are provided and stationed all over the park so you can take one off and then go and grab another one later and snorkel equipment and towels and lockers are provided too. We didn’t purchase any additional activities and had a great day snorkelling, doing the river tubing, ziplines, big slide, jungle walk and cenote etc. They have fish shaped flags in the water to signal where fish may congregate and this was so helpful. We saw loads of different species of fish and stingrays. It is a great, active day out if you want it to be or equally you can chill on the beach or in many of the hammocks they have. It never felt overcrowded for us. Additional activities are expensive so bear in this mind as I can imagine for a family this would be a pricier day out. As a couple in our 30’s who love the water, we still had an amazing day. TIP: bring water shoes of your own they are so expensive to buy in the park and they are really handy for walking around everywhere. No sunscreen unless reef safe whatsoever and please abide by this rule as it’s for the preservation of the reef and animals/ water.

Amazing park - This was our first time in Mexico as a family and this park was our top pick to visit. I was a bit worried cause I'm 400 lbs and didn't think I'd fit the life jackets but glad I was wrong. Fit them perfectly. Kids had a blast snorkeling, going down the lighthouse slides and floating bridge. Unfortunately it did rain on us so we weren't able to do the fast boats so that was a bit of a downer. All in all though great park, amazing food and drinks. We will definitely go again next time we are back.

Water Park - An absolute must if you love being in the water. But if you add the extra activities it gets very expensive. We loved the lazy river (that wasn't so lazy). I loved the cliff jumping, zip wires, Cenote, floating bridge. Great that all food and drink was included as its a very long day.

Great day out but not great value - We booked Xel Ha via Otium travel agency at our hotel Paradisus Playa Del Carmen as part of a 2 package deal with Xplor Fuego. The park is beautiful and clean, equipment is in good condition, etc. In general Xel Ha was a great day out but for the price you pay it is a bit ridiculous the cost of the extra activities such as snuba, speedboat ride, photo package, etc. in that sense it isn’t great value for money as you can only do the basic activities without spending a fortune. One strange thing as well is the breakfast buffet restaurant opening at 9.30am when you are dropped off at the park at gate opening time 8am, people like myself were picked up from their hotels at 6.55am so when you arrive you want food…..then to be stood there and it starts raining so take shelter in the restaurant for a staff member to shout that they are closed and to get out, was a bit of a poor first impression after paying 100s of $ to the Xcaret company. It’s still worth a visit but just be aware you aren’t getting a good deal in comparison to what you pay for Xplor Fuego for example where all activities are included.

Not as many fish as you would think. - I came here in 2001 and there were fish everywhere. It's not like that now. The best place to go is near the pontoon bridge where you will probably see a stingray and possibly a big wrasse that hangs out there. Otherwise, stick to the shoreline. The ziplines are short but fun, and the huge waterslide is great, provided the queues aren't too long. Food was good and drink plentiful. It's a bit rubbish that most other things are upgrades and the pressure to take them is tiresome. Just put them in a package and sell them as part of admission rather than bothering people who want to enjoy thier holiday. Having said that, I'm not a fan of captive animals and so would not do the dolphins or manatee anyway, they are kept in such small pens. They ban sunscreen for the benefit of the sealife, but cage up dolphins, very much double standards.
