Additional Information

The excursion proceeds north along US 191, bypassing the entrance to Arches National Park - initially recognized as a National Monument, it earned its National Park status in 1971. Thanks to our special use permit, we can access Arches through the less-traveled Willow Springs Road. This back route will take you through the newly established ‘Utah Raptor State Park’, a place significant in ancient history as a home for Native Americans over the millennia. Attractions include dinosaur tracks and the panoramic views of the La Sal Mountains. The National Park is positioned over a subterranean salt layer, which has resulted in the creation of its signature arches, spires, and layered sandstone. Our stops will include several key locations such as Eye of the Whale (off-road), Balanced Rock (on-road), Sand Dune Arch (on-road), Delicate Arch Viewpoint (on-road), and The Windows Section (on-road). Anticipate the whole journey to last roughly 4 hours. Each participant will travel in an air-conditioned, enclosed Jeep Rubicon.

  • Please call our office to reconfirm your reservation the day before your tour.
  • We advise that if you are, or anyone in your party is, over 6’2” and/or 225+ lbs. to please consult our office prior to your trip’s departure date.
  • The Jeep Wranglers used have four passenger seats, and the guide/driver has all guests rotate seats throughout the trip. This makes it so that one person is not stuck in the same seat for the entire trip.
  • Not recommended for those with motion sickness, vertigo, etc.
  • Due to these tours being backcountry tours, you will be going off the paved roads in an elevated vehicle that has the clearance for these special off-road trails.
  • Things to bring: water bottle (free refills available), sunglasses, sunscreen, visor/hat, sun protection, sturdy footwear for hiking, day pack, camcorders and cameras (bring at your own risk)
  • Timed entry tickets are NOT needed for this trip.

Great excursion - We had the excursion with Karl, a friendly German who has lived in America for a long time. Karl shared a lot of information about Arches and Canyonlands, which was really great! We saw many beautiful arches, and Karl made a real effort to show us as much as possible while explaining how everything was formed. We had a fantastic experience on this excursion and with Karl.

Awesome tour with Mark! - This tour was amazing! Mark did a fantastic job as our guide. He was so knowledgeable on so many different things and so personable. We didn’t have to sit through any long lines and were able to beat the heat while riding in the AC. Mark also made sure we were able to get out and get lots of great pictures.

Great half day jeep tour in Arches! - This was a great tour with an awesome tour guide/jeep driver, Mark! The owner even called the day before to offer to start our trip earlier in the morning due to the expected heat. Mark was a great driver, very personable, and took us to many great viewpoints along the way. Highly recommended!

Amazing experience for the family! - We would never have seen what we saw on this half a day tour on our own. Karl was amazing! He made this half day back roads jeep tour of Arches National Park a unique experience to what our family was interested in seeing. We were interested in fitting all that we could in half of a day and Karl made that happen! Book this tour and request Karl.

Jeep - Must do in Arches - This was an unbelievable way to spend 1/2 day at Arches. We voided all the crowds thanks to Ric for knowing the back roads and saw many Arches and even the dinosaur prints. It was 100 degrees so having AC in the jeep was very welcomed. It is a bumpy ride but worth it to see beautiful scenery
