Originating during Ottoman rule in the Balkans, this dish was adopted by hajduks (rebels) from the occupying forces, likely with its roots tracing back to Persia.

Split private tour with food and wine tastings - We had an excellent tour with Dinah. We arrived in a heat wave and she was ready with options to help keep us cooler. She showed us the palace and had lots of interesting information to share. She even kept our three teenagers engaged and made a couple of extra stops for us. Our tour finished with an amazing lunch. It was a great tour of split. Thank you!

A day to Remember in Split! - Fantastic experience! If you really want to experience Split culture and food with one of the nicest and most wonderful guides, choose to go with Dana. She is amazing and has such a wonderful personality and gave us so many wonderful recommendations. It was by far the best part of our trip to Croatia!

Excellent birthday treat - This tour was exceptional. It was a perfect mix of history and gastronomy. I learned a lot about the history of Split, the culture and the food. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and she was also multi lingual which was quite impressive. The food was well chosen and delicious.

History & delicious food! - My group of 4 friends loved our experience with Dinah. She was very knowledgeable about both history and the food of Split. She knew every corner of the palace and other neighborhoods! I highly recommend Dinah and this tour.
