Definitely worth doing - Amazing experience. Riding through the fields and river terrains. Something we have never done. The coach with us were very nice. Very knowledgeable.

Wonderful Iceland horseback ride - Great guides. Healthy, friendly horses. We had a great time! They provided everything we needed… including bug nets. Flies were bad this year, everywhere.

Nice ride on a terrible day! - Our kids really enjoyed their ride despite the terrible weather. Solhestar had everything gready to go when we showed up and the guide was a trooper who let the kids enjoy the ride and fawn over the cute Icelandic horses. It was well organized and efficient on time and well worth the cost.

Incredible Experience, Can’t Wait to Come Back! - My boyfriend and I booked for a one hour riding session with Solhestar in Ölfus and had the most incredible time. Firstly, we were greeted by the lovely Emma and Nadja who made us feel so welcome straight away and showed us to the area where we could get our helmets and also offered complimentary wet weather gear, gloves and boots for those who want them. They then took us to our horses and introduced them, making sure we felt comfortable at all times and helped us to get the hang of the basics which was really useful as we didn’t have any previous experience! The girls made sure we were happy before setting off and explained everything so well. We were also in a small group of five so we had plenty of opportunities to talk with the girls and they gave us lots of insight into the Icelandic horses and made sure we got to stop halfway for photo opportunities too! I can’t rate the experience highly enough, everything was very well organised and done to a spectacular standard. Complimentary tea, coffee and hot chocolate is also on offer after the ride to warm up! Absolutely no complaints and we will definitely be back. Thank you Emma and Nadja for the best time !

A wonderful Icelandic horseback riding experience! - Our family comprising of two children and two adults had a wonderful ride in the countryside! Each person was matched with a horse for their ability and our guide Emma did an amazing job explaining things and making sure everyone had a great time. We got to ride right next to the mountains and it was beautiful!

Solhestar for the win! - Fantastic time with our five kids. Knowledgeable and kind staff. One of our children didn’t like going fast and we were accommodated with a private tour while the others tried tolting… Such a fun and memorable experience! The views were fabulous. The horses were well loved and sweet. Highly recommend!

Would have been great if only the company provided bug nets for the helmets. - I would have given 5 stars if only they provided netting for you helmet. The swarms of bugs were incessant and made the 2 hour ride miserable. I wanted to turn around almost immediately, and I LOVE horses and trail rides normally. I was so disappointed because it seems like it would have been such an easy fix for the company to provide netting with the helmets like the guides had on. I had no warning that a net would be needed as other horse rides we did on the beach didn't have any bugs at all. As a tourist, we did not know netting existed and is practically a staple in the area. You all provide rain gear, why not bug gear? My son was in tears during the ride because the bugs were all over him. I couldn't talk to my family during the ride bc bugs would fly into my mouth if I had tried. Such a shame. The horses were great, the guides were great, but the bugs and lack of netting just ruined the whole experience. It was the low-light of our vacation....very disappointed.
