From the early Heian period to the collapse of the Tokugawa shogunate the samurai and ninja always roamed the streets of Kyoto. Now they are back! The samurai and ninja museum brings back the history and helps you to have a glimpse of these heroes’ glorious lives. What is more, you can have a hands on experience including wearing a samurai armor, doing a shuriken (ninja star) throw and using a ninja blowgun all in one place, all included in the tour.

A+ Experience! - The history of samurai and ninja was very interesting. The ninja star throwing competition was so much fun, and the samurai family photos are memories we will have forever. The staff were exceptional.

Amazing Experience - Great experience, very informative, Koki was an amazing guide perfectly explaining everything so we fully understood. The shuriken to rowing experience and wearing the Samurai costume was amazing. Would definitely come back and recommend it to anyone interested in Samurai’s and Ninjas.

Great for families! - Everyone at the Samurai & Ninja Museum were so fun and accommodating especially with our little one who has special needs. I heard multiple languages spoken throughout the tour, the staff does their best to translate for all families. Koki was our museum guide. He gave a great history lesson & taught everyone how to throw Ninja stars. All staff members were super engaged with giving everyone a fun history experience.

Fun and interactive experience for the family! - We recommend this museum.
We got to learn about the history, get dressed up as Samurai for a photo and the kids enjoyed practicing their Ninja moves!

Amazing gem - Samurai Ninja Learning and Fun - The museum offers an excellent balance of education and entertainment. My teenage children were captivated by the rich history and fascinating stories of the samurai and ninja. The interactive exhibits kept them engaged, and they learned so much about the culture and traditions of these iconic figures. For our youngest, the hands-on activities were a highlight. She loved dressing up in samurai costumes and trying out the ninja star throwing. The staff was incredibly patient and made sure we felt excited throughout the visit.

Short Enjoyable History Lesson and Tour - This is a nice way to spend an hour learning about the basic history of the Samurai (and ninjas) and seeing some of their uniforms and weapons. The information I learned during this tour provided a good historical context for Japanese culture. I enjoyed the experience.

Beware - place is now closed but still taking money! - We prepaid for 4 tickets last week but the place has closed down and does not exist at the current address. We wasted around $80. Not sure how to recover the money if we even can.
