Highlights
  • WST - Uplistsikhe, in translation Fortress of the Lord, is a cave town fortress situated on a rocky massif on the left bank of the river Mtkvari. Dating back to I-II millennium B.C. Uplistsikhe was an important religious, political and cultural centre in the Hellenistic and the late Antique periods. Visitors can still walk among the ancient streets, rock-carved theatre, royal halls, pharmacy, pagan temples and Christian churches, while the remains of granaries and large clay wine vessels give us some clue as to the daily life of the inhabitants.
  • Gori - Joseph Stalin’s Museum in Gori – Stalin originally Georgian, was the secretary general of the Communist Party during second world war and one of the most influential dictators of modern times. Museum features Stalin’s house - a hut where he was born; his armour plated railway carriage and a statue that was controversially standing in the main square of Gori up until 2010. In addition, many items owned by Stalin, including some of his office furniture, his personal belongings and gifts made to him over the years. There is also much illustration by way of documentation, photographs, paintings and newspaper articles.
  • Chronicles of Georgia - Chronicles of Georgia. The capital of Georgia, Tbilisi, is famous for several impressive sights. Among them are the Narikala fortress, the Mother of Kartli, the Tsminda Sameba Cathedral and the largest - the “History of Georgia” memorial.
Few of the city’s guests visit it, although the semantic load and large-scale dimensions are worth your attention and time.
The grandiose ensemble of monumental sculptures “History of Georgia” was created by the hands of the Tbilisi genius Zurab Tsereteli. He is a world famous sculptor and artist who has created many monuments in different countries, but this monument is considered one of his best works.
The memorial took 20 years to create, but, unfortunately, it has not yet been completed. There are still several elements missing in the sculpture, and the master’s tools stand waiting for the long-awaited finale.

Nice trip but the guide could be better. - The trip itself was ok. But we were not overly happy with the guide. I think he was very unexperienced, and did not have the ability to include everyone in the conversation. One Lady from Russia was taking over all the conversation in the car and that was only in Russian. We English speaking passengers did not understand anything and even after I told her to do it in English to include everyone she ignored me, and the guide just let her go on with her shenanigans. So with another more experience guide this could be a better trip for everyone.
