Auroras tour - I joined all of the activities that Arctic explorers provides and it was absolutely amazing!!! The owner of the company takes care in every detail. He helped me a lot when I was too late for one tour and helped me to find a better plan instead. The two guides I had during the auroras were also FANTASTIC. They explained everything and really tried their absolutely best. I would 100% recommend.

Dream come true - Amazing day. My dream was to see orca whales and this tour made those dreams come true. Also saw 2 sperm whales, with a humpback and fin whale nearby too. The guide was great ensuring we were all okay and warm enough. The warm clothing provided was perfect. A day I will never forget and will always be grateful for. Thank you Arctic Explorers!

Beautiful and majestic creatures! - We thoroughly enjoyed our adventure to see the whales and orcas with Skipper Maren. We were very fortunate to see baby orcas, humpback whales and fin whales. Maren did a wonderful job explaining the wildlife to us and moving our location closer to where the whales were. Seeing these creatures up close was magnificent and a once in a lifetime experience. Aside from the whales, the surrounding fjords and mountains are breathtaking. It is worthwhile noting that this experience on the fast rib boat brings you closer to nature compared to the big boats (where tourists may only see from a distance). This means that guests will definitely feel the icy wind and water from the ride. That said, the suits, face masks and goggles provided were very effective. The bus ride to Skervjoy is about 4 hours each way. With only a few hours of daylight, there is a short window of time to put on the suit upon arrival and to prepare for the boat ride. Thank you to the Arctic Explorers team for the experience :)

Best choice for the best experience! - The trip was amazing! We had a great guide showing us the bests spots for seeing Orca and humpback whales. The three hours went super fast and we were all sad when it ended. You get all the necessary clothes, so you stay warm during the trip :)

Great experience watching humpback whales! - Our guide Martin was extremely eager to deliver on Arctic Explorers' promise. The first point to which we travelled did not have any whales. So we had to turn the boat around and travel to another area, which Martin was more than happy to do. Finally we did see a large group of Humpback Whales and they were magnificent! We also saw a few Orcas on our way back. The entire experience was thrilling and well worth it. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough information provided at the time of booking the Whale Watching tour. We assumed it would last for 4-6 hours but it actually took us 12 hours to get back to our pickup point (the Whale Watching happens at Skjervoy which is almost 4 hours by bus from Tromso). So we ended up forfeiting our ticket for the Northern Lights tour which was booked for the same evening. The sales representative had reviewed our itinerary over email and advised us to go ahead. They never mentioned that our itinerary of back-to-back Whale Watching and Northern Lights may not be feasible. To summarize - Arctic Explorers' Whale Watching and Northern Lights expeditions are great but their itinerary planning needs improvement.

Whale-Watching Adventure with ARCTIC Explorers: A Mixed Bag - The encounter with orcas in their natural habitat was a thrilling experience, but the 3-hour duration in the rough, windy sea with an uninformative guide left us feeling underwhelmed. The tour's organization was praiseworthy, providing us with necessary gear to withstand the Arctic elements. However, the harsh conditions left us soaked and shivering, significantly impacting our enjoyment of the activity. The guide, while attentive during safety instructions, failed to engage with the group or provide any insights into the orcas' habits or the surrounding marine ecosystem. This lack of engagement and education made the experience feel more like a rushed boat ride rather than an educational and immersive wildlife encounter. Overall, the whale-watching tour with ARCTIC Explorers had its highlights but ultimately fell short in creating a truly memorable and enriching experience: while the tour's organization and safety measures were commendable, the overall experience could be enhanced by adjusting the duration according to weather conditions, and providing more guided commentary to connect participants with the marine environment.

Worst experience! Didn’t attend the trip but charge more than 3,000 NOK - This company was the worst trip agency that I had ever chosen! My friend and I even not had chance to join this trip because they didn’t tell us the bus will exactly take off at 5:30 a.m. And they didn't send a conformation email or notice email to us several days or a day before the departure. We couldn’t contact the staff at that day as their phone number was empty and their WhatsApp agent didn’t reply immediately. So we just missed the bus and didn’t attend this trip. They even charged us for more than 3,000 NOK per person for this trip, and they didn’t let us to change the date or give these two tickets to our friends who wanted to join on other days. Highly disappointed! Never choose this company!

Horrible experience - The company is not reliable at all. I tried to contact on the morning of the trip but no one answer the phone or replied on the WhatsApp and email. The transportation before the rib is not reliable. The company has terrible attitude towards the travel arrangement. We end up with not making to the trip and the company replied us a day later and directly confirm we finish our trip which is ridiculous. Would not recommend this company as it’s not responsible and the service attitude is low and never reply your messages or calls.

Miserable and dangerous tour experience - This tour promised lots of great things, however it was beyond disappointment by the end of the tour. Here are the 3 major issues that led to a disastrous tour for us: 1. We were assigned to a female guide (can't remember her name, but she was the other one besides Martin) - she brought us to look for whales but we only saw 2 whales from very far, while other groups seem to have a magnificent time watching whales up close and regularly. This guide decided to go further away (away from where the rest of the boats were) to look for orcas which ended up not seeing anything for a period of 30 minutes. This is really unfair as this is our once in a lifetime experience and she was experimenting on her search (she did mention it was her 1st time trying this route) which led to nothing. We checked with other participants of the tour upon returning to the bus and they all had an amazing time and managed to see all kinds of whales and orcas, while we were the only group that faced this problem. 2. Our boat ran out of fuel in the middle of the waters and we were left FREEZING for 1.5 hours while waiting for rescue boats to come. This caused a lot of unrest and caused me to develop a serious cough (this is going to affect me for the rest of my trip) as we were stuck in the water for so long at negative temperatures. The boat should have been prepared better and not suddenly run out of fuel. Imagine if you are on a plane and the pilot suddenly announces that the plane has no more fuel. We were unsure how long we were going to be stuck and has caused my wife to have anxiety. And when the rescue boat came, my wife almost fell into the water as everyone was rushing us to go back to the shore because it's already late and the driver drove off before she sat down. We paid a premium price for this tour and did not expect for our life's to be in danger. This is really unprofessional and if anything had gone wrong, our trip would have ended miserably. This shows poor planning from the tour operator in terms of time management, logistics, customer experience and most importantly customer safety. The estimated time to arrive back to shore was 12.45pm, instead we arrived at 2.30pm! 3. Upon arriving at the shore, we were hurriedly moved to take our clothes off and rushed to the bus without being able to warm up (do note we were in the water for 1.5 hours longer than others and we were freezing!). We are humans, not robots, our bodies need to rest and adjust instead of being rushed from the freezing waters into a 3.5 hour bus journey without rest in between. Please get in touch with me regarding this matter as this is very serious
