A great tour on the history of Taiwan from the Taiwanese perspective - This was a great informative tour on the history of Taiwan. Visiting the sites were almost secondary to the history, in a good way, and helps put into perspective why Taiwan is the way it is and hopes for the future. I highly recommend it, not just as a few tour, but to learn about Taiwan and its people. Our tour guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

A really good informative but informal tour. - We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide Elliott was both entertaining and interesting and he put a lot of thought into answering everyone's questions Not too much walking, shady spots for all the talking bits and a pit stop for a drink. It was perfect.

Perfect introduction to Taiwan history - If you are a confused traveler that arrived to Taiwan and saw Republic of China as the country, this is a perfect tour. Very informative and well explained. Loved to hear the history and different perspectives from a local while walking around the old town. Our guide James is perfectly fluent in English and also share some suggestions on restaurants, bars, tours.

Outstanding and a great way to start your Taipei visit! - Excellent experience and a great overview of Taipei and Taiwan. Our guide Sun, had extensive knowledge of the sights we visited and the backstory. This was / is a great way to begin your visit here in Taipei. We liked this company so much we took their second free walking tour and the street food night tour. Chester and Ava as our guides respectively were great! Highly recommend all!

Elliot rocks - What a great tour! Our guide Elliot was very knowledgeable and gave us some very insightful facts about the places we visited. He was conscientious about his word choice, which I respect a lot! He even suggested we try out a local drink :)

So engaging, I had a blast! - The stories that aretalked about during this tour aren't over, Taipei is a hotspot for today's politics and we understand why it's such a big topic after doing this tour. The somber and bloody history of this place were insane to hear about, and the monument in the middle of the peace park about how it's uniting the people is great. Honestly it's my favourite walking tour.

Get to know Taipei better - We had never taken part in a walking tour and we had some doubts about it, but we had to think again. The experience was very interesting and enriching. We had a very good time with the guide Alexandra who was able to pass on the information to us with passion and kindness

Tour was too long - Elliott was a very nice young man but unfortunately his tour was a lecture more than a walk. He gave too much repetitive information for tourists and did not show us enough buildings also overran.

No show for tour guide! - I had purchased this tour after the TripAdvisor reviews 1 day earlier. I thought it would be helpful to learn a bit more of the history of Taipei as we were only here for the day from a cruise ship. We arrived at the designated start point but could find no sign of any tour guides or groups waiting for a tour. Now I admit it was pouring down with rain and we had no WiFi for any updates as whether it was cancelled but felt a bit disappointed. In the end we did our own thing with 2 new friends from our ship. Found the Chiang Kai Shek memorial, got to see the changing of the guard ceremony and managed to stay dry going around the art display and history inside. Happy birthday to Mary!
