Muscat-Wadi Bani Khalid-Wahiba Sands
Wadi Bani Khalid - Departing from Muscat, we head towards Wadi Bani Khalid, one of Oman’s largest and most stunning wadis. Upon arrival, a brief 10-minute walk (walking shoes or trainers recommended) will lead you to sparkling clear water pools, 9 meters deep, perfect for a refreshing swim or a relaxing sunbath amidst the scenic Wadi Canyon.
Wahiba Sands - In the afternoon, we continue our journey to the Wahiba Sands desert. This spectacular desert spans 12,500 square kilometers and is also known as Al Sharqiya Sands. Named after the Bani Wahiba tribe, it stretches 180 kilometers north to south and 80 kilometers east to west, divided between the northern and southern governorates in the eastern region. Relax at the camp or embark on an adventurous 4x4 drive through the sand dunes. We’ll conclude the day by watching the stunning desert sunset from one of the large sand dunes, followed by dinner at the camp.

Sur - After breakfast at the camp, we leave the desert and head towards Sur. Here, we’ll take a brief city tour, visiting the famous Omani Dhow Factory to see traditional wooden dhows being built. We’ll also explore the old part of Sur, where many houses feature beautifully designed wooden doors and windows.
Wadi Shab - From Sur, we continue to Wadi Shab, a vast canyon gorge lined with palm trees, showcasing the power of water flowing down from the mountains. A 35 to 40-minute hike through the canyon (walking shoes or trainers recommended) leads us to crystal clear water pools. Tourists can swim through the warm waters from pool to pool, eventually reaching a final pool where an opening among the rocks allows access to a stunning crevice cave with a small waterfall inside. Sunlight filters in, turning the water a beautiful turquoise blue as it cascades down one side of the cave.
Fins Beach - From Wadi Shab, we’ll stop at Fins Beach, also known as White Sands Beach. This beach offers a panorama of strikingly white sands, pebbly shores, sparkling turquoise waters, and a soft, cool breeze.
Bimmah Sinkhole - From Fins Beach, we’ll visit Bimmah Sinkhole, a water-filled depression in the limestone of eastern Muscat Governorate. The sinkhole, 50 meters by 70 meters wide and approximately 20 meters deep, is located 600 meters from the sea, between the coastal towns of Dibab and Bimmah. Formed by the collapse of the surface layer due to the dissolution of underlying limestone, the local municipality has developed a park to preserve it. Swimming in the sinkhole lake is possible.
From the sinkhole, we drive back to Muscat.
