Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Kibale National Park - Begin the day with an early breakfast at your hotel or residence. Your tour guide or driver will pick you up for a brief safari overview before heading to the Western region of Uganda, specifically Kibale National Park. Enjoy a lunch stop in Fort Portal, followed by a visit to the tea plantations or Toro crater lakes. Continue to the park and check into your chosen lodge. Consider a nature walk in the forest that evening to observe various wildlife species. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay as you prepare for chimp trekking the following day.
Chimp Trekking & Bigodi Wetland Walk
Kibale National Park - After breakfast, your driver will take you to the park’s information center for a briefing with other guests on the dos and don’ts of chimp trekking. Then, embark on an unforgettable journey to find chimpanzees in the forest, which may take 2 to 6 hours depending on their location. Along the way, you’ll also encounter different birds, monkeys such as the black and white colobus, grey-cheeked mangabey, golden monkeys, and various tree species.
After this incredible experience with the chimpanzees, return to the lodge for lunch. Later, your guide or driver will take you to Bigodi Wetland for a swamp walk, where you’ll see more primates like red-tailed monkeys, baboons, bush pigs, L’Hoest’s monkeys, otters, and bird species like the great blue turaco.
Back to Kampala
Kampala - Enjoy breakfast at the lodge as you conclude this remarkable 3-day safari. After breakfast, begin the journey back to Kampala with a packed lunch from the lodge. You will arrive in Kampala in the evening.
