Unparalleled in Italy, this gallery houses an intriguing array of artwork and other objects that depict the art and heritage of the Venetians. Collections of navigation tools, costumes, and other objects are testimony to the dominance that the Venetians exerted over the seas. The museum houses historical memorabilia demonstrating the richness of Venice society over the last 500 years. Of particular interest are the landscape rooms with marvelous paintings of old views of the city. Then on to the apartments of the Empress Sissi, the neoclassic halls with sculptures by Antonio Canova, and the Pinacoteca.
