Well worth your time! - Second time visiting and it was just as wonderful as last time. Brought my senior citizen mom and she loved it. Great experience, great food. What a wonderful way to experience true Mexican and Mayan culture!

Experience for foreigners not for Yucatecans - We really wanted to taste Rosalia’s food and live an amazing experience when we met her and her cooking method, after watching the chapter on Netflix where several international chefs said it was the best piggyback they had ever tasted, but it wasn’t. We think that the person from Mexico lindo (Claudia) controls the big business that is done with the figure of Rosalia through the media. Since the arrival she was the one who welcomed us with an unkind attitude and speaking for Rosalia and her family who also participate in the elaboration of the cochinita , as if they were not able to express themselves or were not given permission. We observed that the family was tired and unhappy to do their job under orders from Mrs. Claudia who told them what to do at all times. Probably before it became the source of income for this tourism agency the food if it was wonderful. But now it seemed to us that the meat was very tasteless and not freshly made, it seemed reheated and put in the pot to heat up in the soil before arriving. Rosalía is a super charismatic person and we don’t doubt that she is a great cook in other conditions than repression and the handling she is being given. Las Chayitas was the highlight of the kitchen. I think this experience is good for the foreigner who has never tried cochinita or black filling, for a Yucatecan no, because we have tried many other typical foods to compare, and we understood that this is a tourist approach, where a person who is not from the region tells you nice stories about the ancient Mayan cooking method.
