Alton Towers Resort, often hailed as Britain’s Greatest Escape, had been on my radar for quite some time. With its reputation for thrilling rides and attractions, I knew it was the perfect place for our next family adventure. So, we packed our bags and headed to Alton, ready to experience the magic of Alton Towers.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the sight of the iconic Alton Towers Hotel, where we would be staying for the next two days. The hotel itself was a delight, with its whimsical decor and friendly staff. Our Explorer room was spacious and comfortable, providing the perfect base for our adventures. After settling in, we couldn’t wait to dive into the excitement that awaited us at the park.

Thrills and Chills at Alton Towers

Our first day at the park was all about the rides. As thrill-seekers, we were eager to experience the legendary roller coasters that Alton Towers is known for. Nemesis Reborn was at the top of our list, and it did not disappoint. The theming around the ride was incredible, with alien veins and a crashed helicopter adding to the immersive experience. The ride itself was a heart-pounding adventure, with twists and turns that left us breathless.

Next up was The Smiler, a ride that promised 14 loops and a mind-bending experience. The area around the ride made us feel like test subjects in a twisted experiment, adding to the thrill. While the queue was longer than we anticipated, the wait was worth it for the adrenaline rush that followed. We also made sure to check out Oblivion, with its iconic vertical drop, and Rita, which satisfied our need for speed.

For families with younger children, CBeebies Land is a must-visit. Our kids loved meeting their favorite characters and exploring the interactive attractions. From the Furchester Hotel Live Show to the Go Jetters Vroomster Zoom ride, there was no shortage of fun for our little ones.

Dining and Relaxation

After a day filled with excitement, we were ready to refuel. Alton Towers offers a variety of dining options, from burger joints to sweet treats. While the food was a bit pricey, we couldn’t resist trying the Rollercoaster Restaurant. Watching our meals delivered via mini roller coasters was a unique experience that the whole family enjoyed.

In the evening, we returned to the Alton Towers Hotel, where we were treated to entertainment and a lovely dinner at the Secret Garden restaurant. The hotel’s facilities were top-notch, with plenty of amenities to keep us comfortable during our stay. The friendly staff made us feel right at home, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

As our adventure at Alton Towers came to an end, we left with memories that would last a lifetime. The combination of thrilling rides, family-friendly attractions, and excellent hospitality made it a trip to remember.
