Good way to Explore Barcelona - It was a very nice way for the family of 4 to move around the city and explore all the “touristy” places. I read in some reviews about the confusion between printed and electronic tickets. Please note there are no electronic tickets. You have a voucher on your phone that needs to be presented the very first time you board the bus. Once it is a presented you are given paper tickets for each traveler that you need to present when you get on the bus. Also please note that there are 2 companies. One uses Red busses and the other blue busses. Stops for the busses are also at slightly different places. My review here is about blue busses :).

Great first day activity - We love the hop on/hop off busses as a first day activity in a new city. A great way to get an overview of what the city has to offer. There were some issues with too many folks wanting to get on at stops near the end and we had a wait a while.

1st trip to Spain - Hop on hop off red route was great. Blue was a little boring! We did not hop off at all… just listened to all the explanations of architecture.

Enjoyable time in Barcelona - I visited Barcelona on September 5-8 -24, I was there with my husband and it was our first visiting it, we were very exited discovering a new culture and life style. To start visiting important cultural sites and to get an idea we took the hop-on- hop off bus Barcelona city tour at Passeig De Colom Placca (plaza), with this service you are able to switch the green route to the red one for the same price. the red line takes you to most emblematic and touristic places like La Pedrera a historic and beautiful building built by architect Gaudi as well La Sagrada Familia on green line, also, this line takes you to the beach. We notice that Barcelona is very walkable and we found that las Ramblas street took us to the Marina , aquarium and mall. these are some of the important places to enjoy your visit in Barcelona, for soccer lovers you can go to visit Barcelona stadium and buy your favorite player's Shirts and enjoy a soccer game. Finally, there are more important places to visit, as well we enjoyed the flamenco music and dances nights at the Passeig De Colon, food and beer. In spite of this good experience, we stayed at Exe Hotel located in a residential zone but near the train station, buses are one block away, near restaurants and if you like to walk you can go straight down to the Placa Catalunya. We enjoyed our visit and I recommend to stay al least 5 days to visit museums and enjoy shopping.

Good overview - It was a good first look around the city and helped us to get our footing foot the next couple of days in town - Certain parts were incredibly slow and lots of traffic lights. Rumor was driver asst ran off bus and got 2 sandwiches while we navigated thru this particularly slow part - buses advertised to start running at 9 am but when we got to our starting pt at 855, we read that particular stop had its first pickup at 10. Something to be careful about

Spend your money elsewhere - I would not recommend. So many stop lights, the bus is constantly stopping. The audio is not all that informative. I did not feel like the stops were all that interesting. Money is better spent on a metro bus or Uber to get to a specific sight/location you are interested in.

A very unhappy customer - Prior to my trip to Barcelona, I received a text from you stated that on October 16, I had a reservation hop on hop off bus 10 o’clock in the morning. We got on the bus and the employee scanned and took my voucher. We went to the top deck, and she then came up a few minutes later and handed the receipt to us with no directions whatsoever. I should say it was quite windy on top. We believe it flew away. When we were going to disembark, she informed us that when we wanted to re-enter the bus we would have to show our receipt. I then realized I didn’t have it. There must be some sort of procedure to deal with this because I’m sure this is occurred before. When I showed her my voucher on my phone that clearly stated it was on October 16. She said it didn’t matter. I asked whether a manager could be called and she said no as that was their procedure. You must show it upon re-entering the bus, I was very upset and, we wound up having to take taxis for the remainder of our day getting from place to place. I feel this was a wasted trip and I would like a reimbursement for the $60 I spent on my two senior tickets. Please take care of this matter. I thank you in advance. Yours truly, Ronnie Krell.

I wish I could tell you..but I was not let on the bus. - We love Viator but in Barcelona was the first time with issues with the app and accessing an activity we paid for. They kept texting me and emailing but the link took me to the website and or app but not to my tickets. We could not see instructions and when we tried to get on the hop on bus showing what we could access we were refused. The first time we have had this issue using Viator in Other cities and countries.

Buyer Beware of Viator!! - We booked a 48-hour Hop On Hop Off Sightseeing Tour of Barcelona and both came down with COVID. Sent a cancellation notice to Viator because we were too sick to go out sightseeing. Viator refused to refund even a portion of our payment and despite several efforts to request a partial refund, they blatantly refused. Unfortunately, Viator seems to have a monopoly on most tour guide bookings. They are not flexible and not customer service focused. All they care about is making money.

We were treated poorly, stranded, thrown off buses we had paid for and the complaints mechanism is lipservice - Awful system - stranded disabled traveler and rude staff. As a disabled sole parent (I have had a near fatal brain haemorrhage, I have fibromyalgia), I book assistance at the airport, but as this option was not available on the website I chose travel options which I can manage easily. As your company seemed to offer a perfect way to see the city, I chose this 48 hour ticket. Sadly, we only used it twice, once segrada Familliar to Pedrada, this was at 4.30 ish on Tuesday. We intended to use it again for 2 tours blue and red before we went on Thursday, I called the helpline twice to issue a new code. The first didn’t work at all, the second worked just for one brief trip to Miramar where we were not allowed to get on one bus who had a bank of 4 seats but claimed to be full, we waited for 45 minutes over all then The second turned us away and we waited another 30 minutes for a cab. Over all, we have been massively put out by Viator and I will be posting reviews on all disability travel website as treating disabled customers like this is discriminatory and potentially illegal.
