Temple of Literature & National University - (Optional)
Temple of Literature & National University is originally built as a university in 1070 dedicated to Confucius, scholars and sages, the building is extremely well preserved and is a superb example of traditional-style Vietnamese architecture. Visiting the Temple of Literature you will discover historic buildings from the Ly and Tran dynasties in a revered place that has seen thousands of doctors’ graduate in what has now become a memorial to education and literature. -
Hoa Lo Prison - (Optional)
Hoa Lo Prison ironically nicknamed the ‘Hanoi Hilton’ by US prisoners of war (POWs) during the American War. Most exhibits relate to the prison’s use up to the mid-1950s, focusing on the Vietnamese struggle for independence from France. -
Ancient House - (Optional)
Then, we head to Ancient House. Situated at a tranquil street near Silver Street, Ancient House appeals plenty of tourists by its ancient but sophisticated charm of a Vietnamese traditional house. -
Lake of the Restored Sword (Hoan Kiem Lake) - (Optional)

Hanoi Free Private Tour Guidr - Being my first time is Hanoi, I decided to have a guide for private tour in the city. Quy, and he contacted me the day before the actual tour and asked if there are any places of interest I wish to visit, this is apart from the intended schedule.
He was punctual and we seemed to click immediately. He speaks good English and took me through my school days learning about Vietnam and it's developments. He was very professional and experienced in the knowledge and whereabouts in the city.
I was charmed by the splendor of historical sites and Quy made it insteesting. My bucket list of having egg coffee whilst watching the train passed by was met with excitement and satisfaction.
I would recommend Quy Vu Van as you will rest assured you are in safe hand even while manouvering traffic he cares for your week being and safety.
This is a five star guide and as a traveller myself, I would highly recommend Hanoi Free Private Tour Guide and Quy.

Personalized and friendly tour - We enjoyed the tour very much and learnt a lot about Vietnamese life from our guide. Khanh was very friendly and happy to share her favourite food and places with us. We liked the egg coffee, pan banh mi and desserts that she brought us to try. Thank you for this service!

Outstanding experience! - The tour was outstanding and awesome! Our guide Shawn took so much effort and time to give us a great experience in Hanoi including so much background knowledge and hidden gems and great vegetarian food places... We had more than 5 hours in this tour because it was so exciting we couldn't stop. Thanks a lot for this. I recommend every tourist to try this tour on the first or second day in Hanoi to get a really good start here!

A college student guide who speaks Japanese - I was asked if it was English only, but I was a student studying Japanese and they guided me very well in Japanese. She seemed to be a first-time guide and there were many things I didn't understand, but I really enjoyed interacting with the locals.

Fantastic tour with an amazing guide! - Our guide Trần Thị Hoa (Anna) was amazing! She gave us such great details about the history of Hanoi and Vietnam while expertly moving us through the chaos. She was funny, kind and attentive. We loved all of it! If you are coming to Hanoi I would definitely recommend doing this.

Best spended time in Hanoi. - We had a Tour with our guide Chubby and it was amazing. She didn't just gave us kontext to the historiy and reasons of the places we've visited but gave us a lot of more insights into the culture and living of the people as well as nice food recommedations.
We had a blast of a time and are very greatfull towards our guide.

Tour Hanoi - Jenny, our guide, was magnificent, very helpful. He showed us many parts of the city that probably as simple tourists he would not have discovered on his own. She was very competent in explaining the culture, religions and customs of Hanoi. The visit was not limited to the main points of the city, but Jenny also took us to two typical places making us try the typical Egg coffee and Bun Cha. Jenny has also shown an interest in our culture, thus bringing a good intercultural exchange. Tour absolutely recommended!
